Haiku Poetry

A haiku poem has a Japanese poetic form. The theme of these types of poems are usually inspired by nature. The form of the poem goes as followed: line 1 = 5 syllables, line 2 = 7 syllables, line 3 = 5 syllables.

The three of us collected branches, leaves, flowers, etc. from outside, and created pictures out of these things from nature. Then, we wrote our own haiku poems to go with the artwork. Here is our final projects:

A Haiku by Leah

A garden of youth
Beauty, song and lovely dreams
Dancing in the sun

A Haiku by Jagna

A God, a God, a
Really good God of nature
Lija likes the God

A Haiku by Jagoda

Yes, says the green branch
No, says the God of nature
I said yes, dumb God!
